Summer releases pt. ii (Timber)

And now for some Timber news.. Timber‘s Scrawled has met with much success and excitement. Thanks to all the radio stations and review outlets for the favorable response, and congrats to Daniel Aaron and co. on a fine record. Here’s a smattering of excellent critical praise:

Americana UK (“Timber… channel a loose, stringband type sound that owes to the likes of Nickel Creek or the Old Crow Medicine Show. The result is a handsome, at times exhilarating, batch of warm woody back porch songs…”), Altcountryforum (‘translated’ here from the Dutch), (likened to Vic Chesnutt and our all-time favorites, The Schramms. The Schramms?), and Kindamuzik (“Scrawled goes genre boundaries.. for fans of Gillian Welch and Uncle Tupelo”).

Stomp & Stammer writes: “The Athens-based act marries acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel and other stringed-and-otherwise instruments in a laid- back, neighborly manner that colors the dirt road singer/songwriter Daniel Aaron’s songs tread. ”

And, as mentioned, loads of radio play on The Miller Tells Her Tale, Taproot, Americana OK, Tues. Night Americana Club, and other stations worldwide.

Let’s get these folks on the road. Daniel Aaron’s looking to play shows in the southeast this November. Shoot us a note ( if you wanna bring ‘em to your town!
