We’re pleased to announce two fantastic additions to the Cowboy Angel roster: Little Country Giants and The Granfalloons!

Little Country Giants have been celebrated for the past few years in Georgia and beyond for their blend of vintage southern folk, bluegrass, and country featuring Cameron and Russell Cook’s exceptional songs and stunning harmonies. Soon to be your new favorite record, Fists of Foam and Fury was recorded by Rich Feaster (Bonnie Prince Billy, Thad Cockrell, Blind Boys of Alabama) in Nashville. Stay tuned for more info after the holidays! For now, visit Little Country Giants on myspace and fall in love again.

The Granfalloons create a sophisticated blend of Americana, alt.country, indie rock, and good ole southern vibes on their debut release, Songs to Sing. An all-star collection of Athens-area musicians (featuring AJ Adams, Chuck Bradburn, Seth Hendershot, Tommy Sommerville, and Matthew Williams) who have been seen in such acts as Blueground Undergrass, Squat, Birds & Wire, Southern Bitch, and more, The Granfalloons offer fun, catchy, harmony-laden gems you’ll be singing along to in no time. Athens’ answer to Golden Smog and the Jayhawks, you’re gonna love this exciting and varied record! Click here for a great review from Flagpole Magazine, and check ‘em out on myspace.

You’ll find them both on the Artists and Store page in the next few weeks.

Firstly, Cowboy Angel extends its best wishes to the fine folks at the legendary Georgia Theatre, a landmark and integral part of the Athens, Georgia, music scene, which burned down last month. Visit the GA Theatre Rehabilitation Fund to help the Theatre family as they restore the historic venue in downtown Athens.

Cowboy Angel friend and UGA Music Business Program Co-Director, award-winning songwriter Bruce Burch, presents the 8th Annual John Jarrad Concert, celebrating the life and legacy of the Gainesville, Georgia-native songwriter on Thursday, September 24th at Brenau University in Gainesville. Steve Cropper (“Sitting By the Dock of the Bay”), John Berry, and other songwriters will perform to raise funds for north Georgia charities through the John Jarrad Foundation.
