Thanks for checking back in to Cowboy Angel and happy fall. Summer’s over (as of today, actually). That means changing colors, tons of rain (lately), college football, and great music coming your way!
Firstly, Cowboy Angel extends its best wishes to the fine folks at the legendary Georgia Theatre, a landmark and integral part of the Athens, Georgia, music scene, which burned down last month. Visit the GA Theatre Rehabilitation Fund to help the Theatre family as they restore the historic venue in downtown Athens.
Cowboy Angel friend and UGA Music Business Program Co-Director, award-winning songwriter Bruce Burch, presents the 8th Annual John Jarrad Concert, celebrating the life and legacy of the Gainesville, Georgia-native songwriter on Thursday, September 24th at Brenau University in Gainesville. Steve Cropper (”Sitting By the Dock of the Bay”), John Berry, and other songwriters will perform to raise funds for north Georgia charities through the John Jarrad Foundation. Visit the link above for more info. If you’re in or close to Georgia, come on by.
And..
Cowboy Angel will be releasing a few excellent records in the course of the next six months:
Nutria’s “Permanent Reminder of a Temporary Emotion”
Justin Evans‘ “The Owls & The Hounds”
Timber’s “Scrawled”
Look for updated content on the Artists page, links, etc. in the coming weeks.
And.. Adam Klein’s recent fundraiser via Kickstarter.com was a complete success! He’s off to Bamako, Mali (West Africa), in early 2010 to record a Malian ‘Mande’ music album with some of the top players in the country. In the meantime, work will begin stateside this fall on his next record. Also check the tour dates for Adam’s October shows in Arkansas, NYC, Baltimore, DC, etc..
